what is In-Town Soccer?
“In-Town” is a soccer program that is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.
what are the age groups?
Boys and Girls play separately in 2nd & 3rd Grade and 4th thru 6th grade divisions. 7th and 8th Grade children play co-ed games for In-Town soccer.
when does the season start?
In-Town Soccer has two seasons, Fall and Spring. Although the specific date changes year to year we like to have all Fall games begin by September 15th and end by November 1st. In Spring, we attempt to have games begin mid-April and end mid-June. Weather permitting.
when are the games?
In-Town soccer games are played on Friday nights at 5:30pm and on Saturday starting at 8:30am until 12pm or later depending on weather or schedule changes. Games can run up to an hour.
when are practices?
Practice dates and times are set by the Head Coach or coaching staff. Since our In-Town program is comprised mainly of volunteer parent coaches we allow them to set practice times and dates around their work or personal schedule. However, we request from the volunteers that days and times are kept consistent each week so everyone involved can plan accordingly and attend all practices on time.
whAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
All children are required to have proper footwear in the form of soccer cleats and/or turf shoes. Shin guards are required. Please purchase age and size appropriate equipment. Do not assume anything fits out of the box. Try it on first! No jewelry (earrings, bracelets, oversized hair clips) are allowed on the field. BSC will provide each child a new team jersey for the season.
i registered and paid, now what?
Once we have completed our registration and sign-up process we will assign you to a team and coach. Once the coach has access to the team rosters they will begin to reach out to parents about practice dates and times. This will usually occur one to two weeks before the season starts.

covid guidelines for fall 2021
As the Fall 2021 outdoor season is upon us, New Jersey Youth Soccer would like to remind all members, coaches and players regarding Return To Play as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 28, 2021, Governor Murphy followed guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Jersey Department of Health to remove all restrictions regarding COVID-19 and Return to Play activities.
It is important to note that there may be changes in the number of cases and hospitalizations from COVID-19 as we enter the fall and winter months. NJYS continues to encourage everyone involved in youth soccer to be vigilant in practicing the common sense health activities that reduce the risk of transmitting all infectious diseases, including coronavirus.
The CDC and the Governor’s Office encourages everyone to get vaccinated, especially those who are medically compromised.
Other health activities to reduce the risk of disease include:
- Washing your hands thoroughly and frequently.
- Covering coughs and sneezes.
- Staying home if you are feeling ill. Wearing masks when appropriate and
- Maintaining social distancing among all participants while at our soccer fields.
Although masks are not required outdoors, those who feel comfortable wearing them should feel free to do so.
As you know, the COVID-19 response will continue to evolve and information is expected to change quickly. NJ Youth Soccer will continue to follow the guidance from state and health officials and communicate these changes in a timely manner.
We understand the challenge this may pose for parents and, nonetheless, urge us all to adhere to these parameters that currently provide an opportunity for players to train and compete during this difficult time.
Thank you for your continued support of youth soccer.
Please read and acknowledge the In-Town and Travel soccer agreement between BSC (The Club), its parents and players. This agreement is our bond and will be used to educate and hold accountable our members to the expected level of sportsmanship
and integrity for our club. The Agreement also serves as our Codes of Conduct.
